My
Relinquishment
Before
you were born I bonded with
you. Before they took you away
from me, I fell in love with you.
You
were born into a world not knowing
what was going on. Your
tiny little eyes opened slightly and
I saw your first day's dawn. You
slept in my arms as I rocked you. I
sang to you and your cries were hushed.
I would have to sign your relinquishment
papers shortly, and I
suddenly felt so rushed.
I
wept the first time I held you, my
silent smile revealed my joy. I
wanted to keep you forever, you
were my Angel, my own baby girl.
I
went to the Court House to sign my name for
some papers that said you weren't mine. That
day I relinquished my rights, but my love
for you will last through out time!
There
was a ceremony at the Court House. The
Major blessed us and I cried. That day you
were going to leave me. That day a part
of me died!
Right
before you left my arms, I whispered in
your little tiny ear. I said, "I will always love
you" as I wiped away my tears.
I
tell people about you with so much pride. One
day you'll be told the story of how you came
into this world. How you were given your
adoptive family, by the choice of a brave
teenage girl!
But
sometimes I don't feel so brave, I feel scared
and want to run far away. There is one
thing that keeps me strong. That's the Faith
that you will know me and love me someday
soon! Bonnie
